In the late 1970s in the United Kingdom, Ron Penney had been handpicked to paint Broadlands, the former home of Lord and Lady Roumsey where he decorated the chambers of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Martin formed Paint Professionals in 1994, with a vision to bring a new level of professionalism to the trade.
